Author’s Statement on AI
I don’t use AI in my books.
I have never used AI at any time in the writing or editing process for my books, and I never will. Writing fiction is the core of my vocation here, and it’s not something I want to hand off to the robots. The output wouldn’t be as good, but more importantly, I wouldn’t be sharing my own stories with my readers.
Likewise, I have never used AI art in my book covers, and I never will. I believe in hiring talented human illustrators and designers to create unforgettable covers.
I may use AI in marketing and business admin.
In my day job, I work extensively with AI tools for tasks related to marketing data analysis and decision-making. I believe these tools are well-suited to data analysis tasks. Consequently, I may use AI from time to time or regularly in handling business administration and data analysis related to my writing business.
I’ve also witnessed authors having great success using AI-generated videos in their marketing. I find this usage to be acceptable, as a marketing asset (like a video) isn’t part of the core of my vocation (writing fiction). Consequently, I may use AI from time to time or regularly in generating marketing materials for my books.
